Check out the Seniors' Summers
MSTC Senior Papa Chakravarthy traveled to Botswana in order to help fight the HIV epidemic in Africa. He taught math to AIDS orphans, worked in a lab doing tests, studied pathological data on anti retroviral drug therapies, and volunteered at the children's ward at Princess Marina Hospital. Serving humanity against HIV infection was an extremely rewarding experience which changed his life.
MSTC Senior Jordan Bryan traveled to Jerusalem to perform research at Hebrew University where he explored the causes of Cystic Fibrosis. After much hard work, he successfully synthesized peptides from the MSD1 and NBD1 domains of the Cystic Fibrosis Trans-Membrane Conductance Regulator protein, a small step towards producing a specialized chemical chaperone that could finally cure the disease.
