PLD

The classes listed below are the classes necessary to graduate with an MSTC Diploma. Fayette County Public Schools has its own graduation requirements which MSTC students must complete as well.

MSTC Classes: A total of 15 MSTC Credits including:

  • Chemistry I
  • AP Computer Science A
  • Biology I
  • Physics I
  • Earth/Space Science
  • 4 MSTC Math Classes
  • Junior Seminar/Research
  • Senior Seminar
  • Senior Research

Dunbar Classes:

  • 3 Years of Advanced English and AP Senior English
  • 3 Years of the same foreign language
  • 3 Years of Social Studies Advanced Political Science and Economics
  • AP Statistics
  • Humanities

Additional requirements include:

  • Complete at least one MSTC mathematics course each year.
  • Complete MSTC Calculus I.
  • Complete 3 MSTC credits during grade 9, 3 MSTC credits during grade 10, 4 MSTC credits during grade 11, and 5 MSTC credits during grade 12.
  • Complete through level 3 of the same foreign language.
  • Maintain an equivalent grade of C or higher on all non-MSTC high school courses during all eight semesters of high school.
  • Have no more than a total of two C’s or equivalent grade in MSTC courses during high school.
  • Observe all rules and regulations as outlined in the Electronic Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Observe all rules and regulations as outlined in the PLD Student Code of Conduct. 

MSTC Research Project

The Capstone of the MSTC program is a 360 hour research project which typically occurs at the University of Kentucky. This project is started in the second semester of junior year and must be completed by April of the student's senior year in order for the student to graduate as part of the MSTC program.
