Future Ideas and Contests

Involve our Youth Project

We are looking for a Marina to donate a boat to our school, so we can "raffle" if off for a fundraiser. The funds will then be used to help pay for an "on the water experience" for the middle school students that are zoned to attend Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. Our fishing club members will serve as mentors to prepare the younger students for and during the trip.

Fishing Tournament

This would consist of a week long tournament where parents, volunteers and various civic clubs, and fishing clubs will fish for one week tosee who has "weighed in" the biggest fish in each division. The fish must be kept alive and be "weighed in" live at a Kentucky Fish and Wildlife "approved location" These locations will be disclosed depending upon the entrants and where they fish. The species divisions will be any types Bass,Catfish, Striped Bass, and Trout.

FISH ART Art Contest

This will involve our community and schools by giving middle school and high school students an oppurtunity to explore and duplicate aquatic species and their suroundings. Fish are the encouraged species to draw or paint, but other aquatic life will also be accepted. The media divisions are drawing, painting and sculpture.
